The Italian Mafia is one of the best known criminal organisations and a corporation based on violence and delinquency. They climbed up the pyramid in society to make themselves the owners of the cities, businesses, and all the illicit operations possible. They were a family both subjectively and literally, and thats how they treated each other. But, although we have seen a large amount of movies, video games, and other sorts of media about the Mafia, there has only truly been 1 kind. Italian. They did everything their sort of way, which is to say very passionately and very personal. This got me thinking, if thats how the Italians did it, how would other countries' Mafia's function and perform? More specifically, I started wondering how would a German Mafia be like (Completely opposite from the Italian I suppose). And then I spent a big amount of time happily making up what would each member of this German Mafia drive?

Kinja'd!!!

For this I decided to investigate what "Roles" or "Positions" were established by the Mafia. Since the only Mafia that has left such a big legacy is the Italian, the Mafia.wikia.com website I got the info. from only showed me how the Italians structured their Company of Crime. So I decided to stick to their protocol and try to match the best car possible with the type of person that would be using it depending on their role in the Mafia. All while being ZeGerman.

"The Boss Or The Don"

Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG

Kinja'd!!!

The Boss is, well, the Boss. He is the person that made all the official decisions and the person who received all the income. He was also in charge of solving any disputes outside of the family, as well as inside the family.

Why the CL? Because he needs to have the best Mercedes of all the Mercedes. The most powerful, largest, most underrated of the AMGs, and a 2 door because its his personal car. Mercedes is the more Old Style kind of luxury German automaker, so this fits the boss pretty darn well.

"Underboss"

BMW M5

Kinja'd!!!

He is under the boss in pretty much everything, but above any other member on his duties. Sometimes he has almost all power, and sometimes he just follows orders. Still, if the Boss died for whatever reason or he retired, he would take charge of the Mafia after a lot of training.

Why the BMW M5? Because he still isn't quite there to get all the power, although he still is above pretty much everyone. He still needs the 4 doors and a big trunk since he still does some jobs for the Boss. Its the best he can have whilst still on duty. Also, he doesn't care of what the family has bought for the last 40 years (Mercedes) and wants to see change when he gets to power.

"Counsellor" or "Consigliere"

Mercedes Benz E63 AMG Wagon

Kinja'd!!!

He helps the boss make the decisions that are best for the Mafia. He never acts to make himself benefit, so his position is almost always carefully selected by the Boss or by the members of the Mafia. He receives as much respect as the Boss and is cared for like the Boss, so the Counsellor is deeply thanked for the Family of the Mafia and its members. Also, he isn't connected to the violence or crime involved with the other members of the group.

Why the E63 AMG Wagon? Because he knows whats best. He knows that performance and practicality are best in hand in a fast wagon. Also, since he respects the Mafia's beliefs, he buys from their preferred manufacturer. His is in a very discrete colour as well as de-badged and never tries to capture anyones attention, but it is always prepared for anyone who would try to confront him.

"Capos" or "Caporegime"

Black Mercedes Benz G550

Kinja'd!!!

These are the captains or lieutenants of a group of soldiers who do the dirty work for the mafia. They are in charge a certain group and their orders are always followed, although they are given from the people above them. The only way a Capo is successful is if he makes a large amount of income for the Mafia though only some of these earning are given to him. The others are split into the Boss and Underboss.

Why a Black Mercedes Benz G550? Because it was a military vehicle to begin with. These cars are going to be used in all sorts of places to take care of the dirty jobs, and the G is always up for it. It is black because its sinister, with a tough front guard to pass objects or people. Its the G550 since they cant afford an AMG version, but it is plenty for the trucks handling capabilities.

"Made Men"

The Made Men are the toughest of guys who do the dirty jobs and enjoy them. They don't mess around and have a lot of respect from the people above the Mafia as well as their trust.

Mercedes Benz C63 AMG (Sedan or Coupe)

Kinja'd!!!

Why the Mercedes Benz C63? Because they have the most brutal engine, which goes nicely with their way of being. They have the choice of the sedan since they still have the dirty jobs to do, and a C63 looks evil enough to cause stutters and shudders to anyone that looks at it from their house at 2 A.M. with 2 guys getting out. It just works.

"Soldiers"

Audi RS3

Kinja'd!!!

These are the least payed and the least respected members. They do the jobs, though they are expected to fail, and they don really connect to the Boss in any way. They mostly are there to say they are part of a Mafia, and to be able to use weapons.

Why the Audi RS3? Because well, they don't get much pay, and they need a car that will blend in and go as fast as hell. Also, the traction is a bonus, as well as the practicality. They do buy them in all sorts of tones because, well, they just get to the person they have to put down and they dont mind being seen.

"Associates"

Volkswagen Golf GTI

Kinja'd!!!

These people don't really belong to the Mafia, but they ho hand in hand with all their businesses. They are involved with the drug dealing, assassinating, robbing, they sometimes are lawyers and even members of the Police. They are important for the Mafia for support, but they are easily replaceable and not that trustworthy.

As all-rounders as Associates are, they need the best all-around car possible. And that is, without a doubt, the GTI. It blends in, is plenty quick, plenty sensible, and plenty capable. For whatever job, duty, or crime it is there to suit their every need without attracting much attention to itself or the police. Some may have it tuned, others may use it economically, but all of them have their own all-around champion GTI.

There you have it, my believe on what a German Mafia would drive around if such a thing was established today. Any suggestions or ideas are very welcomed.

Imma let you finish, but:

The Italian mob is as romanticized as a classic muscle car.

The Russians are setting a new standard for organized crime and have been more powerful than the Italians for a while now.

Growing up in the NY/NJ area the car that has always screamed mafioso to me is the W140 S-Class Benz, if you drove one of those in the 90's you were connected lol

Good choice, probably could be the car the Boss is chauffeured in. The CL is his personal car.

Yep, I knew about that. I have seen so many Russian mafia videos and they are driving pretty much the same cars as here. Though a lot more Cayennes and X6s.

W140 Drivers at the time were either rich people who wanted to go by anonymously, or criminals. I love them.

those things just screamed mob boss to me, not sure why. Sopranos was already big in the late 90's early 00's, and Tony and crew drove some pretty pedestrian Cadi's. The character with the coolest car was probably cristopher...LS400, CLK430, to Range Rover 4.6, Maserati, to Escalade

Theres always an Escalade...

Still, I highly doubt any German Mafia person would even dare buying a Cadillac.
